Every year for a decade, our family has taken a vacation to the Northwest corner of Puerto Rico. We go with an extended group of friends and fill up a house on a quiet stretch of beach.
We have some traditions. We hit Secret Beach at low tide. We surf Jobos. We jump off the pier at Crash Boat. We build a bonfire on Shacks Beach and eat Puerto Rican takeout. I take pictures.
These pictures preserve our best moments between. Between school and work and commitments. Between growth spurts, grades and years. Between a thought and its expression. Between is where we find art.
